Just when we gave up all hopes of our Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 ever being updated to the next level post 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware update, a leaked version of android KitKat 4.4.2 has promptly subjected our prized possession to the royal treatment of the firmware. While for the past years, the Samsung galaxy 10.1 was never given an update of the earlier android version of 4.3 which many of its counterparts released during the tenure, it suddenly received an astounding leak of the 4.4.2 version of the Android KitKat lately that has added a colorful feather to the beauty of the device.
Nobody would have ever guessed an update for the upgradation-neglected device, that’s what has taken the whole Samsung Galaxy Note community by surprise. The leak was perpetrated by an XDA Member and Developer who did a convenient job of compiling all necessary files and later released them for all the first generation Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 users to test on their devices. Though the leaked software is by now available for download already, the sammobile.com reported the news first. However, the leaked software is just a pre-release build and is not official from Samsung and it no way increases the device’s binary counter and does not void its warranty either. It has been also learned that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat version for Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 model includes all the standard KitKat features and improvements that go this way- faster/smoother performance, wireless printing support, white status bar icons ,full-screen album art and a new camera shortcut on the lock screen, improved sound controls for definite Samsung apps, options to select the default home and SMS apps and general stability improvements. It is also said to have better battery life and a more reliable and stable android environment besides having redesigned UI with better and multi-functional toggles. The official version of the firmware for the tablet is dated to be released some time next month or so. It is therefore best to keep an eagle eye, till then ,on every android-based site to get a whiff of the official release date.
So, proud owners of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 have now a reason worth flaunting their tablets and their shimmering new companion-Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Its green button for all the tablet owners to go ahead and taste a bit of this long-awaited KitKat!!
