Aadhaar card has become quite essential these days. It’s an essential document for the least government activities these days. Few days ago it was even mandatory to take a new SIM card, though this has been banned recently by the SC. Still for some activities like Banking, Ration and Cooking gas, Aadhaar is mandatory this date.
However, some people who have made their Aadhaar long before, now might be facing issues due to change of Address. So if you are also one among the many who face such issues, we shall guide you today how to change your address on Aadhaar card online.
For changing address on your Aadhaar card online, at first you have to visit the official site of UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) using this link https://uidai.gov.in/ and then go to the options Aadhaar Online Services > Aadhar Update > Address Update Request (Online).
Now a new tab will open on your Windows screen on which there will be some Terms and Conditions along with the Address Update option. To update your Aadhaar address, you need to have the mobile number which is connected to your Aadhaar. It’s so because you will receive the OTP on this number to change address.
Now go to the new tab that appears on your Windows screen, put your Aadhaar Card number to log in and now you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
Now put the OTP to continue and click on Data Update Request. Then click on the Address option and now you will get the Aadhaar Update option. Now update your new address as per your requirement and Submit for update.
Post submitting the Data Update request, you also have to submit some documents such as Passport, Bank Statement, Bank Passbook, Post Office Account Statement, Ration Card, Voter Card etc. You have to upload the signed and scanned copy of your document and you have to submit any one of the above said documents.
Next opt for the BPO Service Provider and then click on the Request Submit button. Now you will get an update request number. Using this OTP you can download the Acknowledgement copy of your request and can print it.
Post submitting your Aadhaar update request following the above mentioned steps, your Aadhaar card will be updated in few days and you will get an update notification through your phone or mobile number.
