How to Update Samsung Galaxy Note PRO to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop P901XXS0BPL1 Firmware

samsung galaxy note proThe Samsung Galaxy Note PRO bearing the model number SM-P901 was launched with the powerful stock Android 4.4 KitKat OS, and now it’s getting upgraded to the powerful Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS. So undoubtedly this is a good news for the users and it is supposed to fix the existing bugs and issues on your tab along with addition of few new features. The Firmware is being rolled in Kazakhstan, Ukraine (Kyivstar), Russia and Uzbekistan.

So what the users have to do is to keep checking the notification panel of their Samsung Galaxy Note PRO to ensure that the update has hit their device. If not, then they must not get depressed as they can follow the below mentioned manual update procedure to start with the update right now. Requirement

  1. Samsung Galaxy Note PRO
  2. One Computer (Windows XP or Windows 7)
  3. Original USB Cable
  4. Enable the USB Debugging by going to Settings>Application>Developers Option and tick the USB Debugging box and do not forget to untick the box when the update is finished.
  5. Backup all the personal data such as SMS, MMS, videos, music, apps, contacts, messages, apps etc present in your phone using backup app to avoid data loss.
  6. Power up the Samsung Galaxy Note PRO if your battery is low and hence it must be 60% or more to avoid shutdown of your device.

Update Samsung Galaxy Note PRO to Android Lollipop

  1. First make sure that your Samsung Galaxy Note PRO is not rooted and then create the backup. If it’s rooted then you may or may not get the exact result. It’s totally unexpected.
  2. Then download the Lollipop Firmware for your Galaxy Note Pro and after download Odin. Do not rename it.
  3. After extract both the downloaded files on your PC and place them on the desktop to find easily while updating.
  4.  Switch off the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro and press the VOL DOWN KEY+HOME BUTTON+POWER BUTTON to move your Smartphone into download mode. When a warning message appears, press the VOL UP KEY to move to the next step.
  5. Now double click on Odin to launch it and then with the help of USB, connect the Samsung Galaxy Note PRO to your PC. Soon as the ID:COM box in Odin turns yellow indicating that the device is connected. If this doesn’t happen then you must not have enabled the USB Debugging option. So check it out again.
  6. Now select “PDA” and choose the .tar file that was downloaded & extracted by you in the beginning. Go ahead and click on the Start button.
  7. The update will start now and will take few minutes. The phone will be off and reboot itself. Then unplug the cable and go easy with the official updated process.
